With decorative grilles, you may never look at a parking garage the same way again.

Florida state code says that parking structures must not look like parking structures.  The architect took that requirement one step further by using standard architectural grille products in custom orientations to construct a parking garage that looks more like an urban sculpture.

PARTNERING TO CREATE CUTTING EDGE SOLUTIONS

Project: Consolidated Rental
Architect: Spills Candela DMJM
Product: Vert-A-Cade 8000, Vert-A-Cade 304 (shown), Myriad Continuous

Architects Spillis Candela DMJM did not want Consolidated Rental Car Facility at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to look like a typical parking garage. CS offered a wide variety of grille patterns that not only met the firm’s aesthetic requirements, but also were capable of meeting the project’s 150 mph wind load, 130 square foot wind pressure and 50-75% free area requirements.
