Solution
Native mosses cover the roof and CS Perforated Sun Controls help reduce glare and solar heat gain while still letting diffused daylight enter reducing the need for artificial light and air conditioning. Rainwater is collected and diverted into the wetlands. Built with the goal of reducing energy use and dependence on fossil fuels, greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, as expected the project is certified LEED Gold.

The building has classroom space for Math, English, Music and Fine Arts, the College’s Learning Center and a recital hall. It serves the College’s mission of becoming a regional center for continuing and higher education.
